Prop It Like It's Hot

Natasha is an incredible prop, costume, and set designer who can make just about anything come to life! She recently landed an incredible contract with two of biggest theaters in the South and hired me to capture creative headshots for her appearance in each show's Playbill.

Natasha didn't want her photos to look like the typical "actor's headshot". Instead, she wanted a more colorful, organic vibe shot using natural light. I was excited to create the atmosphere needed to capture such a vibrant personality!

I took note of her vision as well as her personality and the role she'd be playing in her new work environment. As a creator, her job is full of color, texture and pattern. I also knew her personality was bold, joyful and vibrant and I wanted to make sure I chose a background that supported that. For locations, I found a bold blue background to make her eyes pop, a patterned wall to reflected her exuberance, and a clay-textured wall that complemented her skin tone.

Our time was full of silliness as her beautiful personality poured out into the photos. She was so incredibly happy with the way they turned out! Such a fun shoot!
